A TEAM of Middlewich High School mathematicians returned victorious from a competition in Sandbach this week, claiming first place.
The group of four Year Ten students travelled to Sandbach High School on Tuesday, November 15, to take part in a ‘Maths Feast’ competition.
Competing against nine other Cheshire schools and academies, the Middlewich team topped the table after two hours of competition across six rounds of maths challenges.
The Maths Feast challenges were supplied by Further Maths Support Programme (FMSP), who promotes further maths as a subject choice nationwide.
The competitions, held across England and Wales, help students develop teamwork and communication skills. A mix of traditional and practical questions also test problem-solving and quick thinking.
Winning team-members Serena Jerham, Aaron Doyle, Noah Curran and Elliot Chan were awarded a number of books that will inspire them to develop their maths skills.
