THREE people in Middlewich and Sandbach have been arrested in connection with an incident in Staffordshire, where an elderly man was overcharged by almost £4,300 for gardening work.
Two men and a woman were arrested by Staffordshire Police on Saturday, November 12, nine days after an elderly Hanford man had paid by cheque for some gardening services.
When the cheque was cashed, the man discovered the amount payable had been changed from £220 to £4,500.
All three have been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
