A JACKKNIFED lorry has blocked the A54 in Stanthorne, forcing a closure between Middlewich and Winsford.
The incident was reported to police shortly before 4pm, with a lorry blocking the road and initially closing one carriageway of Middlewich Road, causing drivers to edge slowly by.
Highways are also attending the scene, with authorities in the process of trying to move the lorry. The road is closed in both directions between Birch Lane and Road One as the incident is dealt with.
An ambulance has been called as a precaution.
The incident is ongoing, and police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
