MIDDLEWICH Music held its biggest event to date on Saturday, with an all-day event taking over Wheelock Street from 11am until 11pm.

Fifteen acts took to two stages, with an acoustic stage within the busy Makers Market until 3pm and a live stage at the White Bear through to 11pm.

Adam Roberts, Middlewich Music founder and organiser of the Bear Wych Project 2, said: “It was awesome – it was a lot bigger than we expected, really. Everything ran on time, which never happens, and it was all pretty spot on.

“The crowd was the biggest we have had, it was packed all day, and lots of local bands were able to sell some CDs and vinyl which was good for them.

“People has been saying it was a brilliant night, and quite a few bands are asking us if they can be involved in the next one we do.”

Following the success, Adam is keen to push Middlewich Music on and is already looking ahead to similar events this year and next.

As well as the big events, Middlewich Music continues to run smaller gig nights at pubs.

Adam said: “We need to start trying to attract sponsors and to be able to pay bands what they deserve. The pubs do what they can but it would be good for us to be paying bands.”
