FLORISTS in Morrisons will be leaving colourful summer posies across town from tomorrow, inviting people to pick them up and take them home.

In an attempt to brighten up Middlewich’s Bank Holiday weekend, florists in the Middlewich store will be placing flowers in parks, bus stops and shopping areas for passers-by to take with them.

They are made from multi-coloured Germini, which look like big, brightly coloured summer daisies.

Helen Perry, Morrisons Middlewich store manager, said: "Our florists know how changeable the weather has been this summer and wanted to cheer everyone up.

“We hope that people who find these brightly-coloured posies across Middlewich will pick them up, take them home, and enjoy having their little splash of warming colour in their house.”

Morrisons makes 22 million bouquets a year, using nearly 250 million stems at its very own Flower World site. In dealing directly with all of its flower growers, it can offer a minimum of five days vase life on its flowers.
