THE ninth annual Middlewich Classic Car and Bike Show proved a hit at the weekend, with car enthusiasts flocking from across the UK.
A boggy Market Field played host to the display, along with Civic Way car park, and visitors experienced a mix of grey and sunny conditions across the Saturday and Sunday.
As well as a vast display of cars and bikes, a 1950s Bristol bus offered free trips around town until it unfortunately suffered a tyre problem on Sunday afternoon.
Stephen Dent, one of the event’s organisers, said: “We were oversubscribed in the end and couldn’t get all the cars that wanted to come on. The showground was absolutely choc-a-bloc.
“We had some absolutely fantastic cars, and we’ve never seen such a sea of motorbikes.
“We are one of the very few car shows which people can come at any time without booking in. A number of people travelled a fair distance to get to us.
“Just to see the field absolutely buzzing with people enjoying themselves and chatting to each other was great.
Market Field’s drainage issues led to the closure of around a quarter of the capacity, although the motorcyclists offered the top half of the car park to accommodate more cars.
Stephen says the event is looking at expanding due to popular demand, and that there were a number of options to consider.
