A STUDENT from Middlewich has braved the shave after learning that his old head teacher’s grandson had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.

Former Middlewich High School pupil Euan Chatterton, 17, says he and his family received incredible support from ex-head Martin Forster when mum Jayne, also a high school employee, was diagnosed four years ago.

Upon hearing the recent news, Euan was desperate to help and booked in to Tim’s Gents Hairshop in Hightown, while also raising money for a brain tumour charity.

Euan said: “When my mum was diagnosed with cancer, the head teacher at the time was really supportive of the family. My mum and I knew that we could go to him about anything.

“When I heard that his grandson had been diagnosed with a brain tumour, I wanted to help and this was the first thing that came to mind.

“It was kind of mixed feelings before the shave – I wasn’t too happy about losing all my hair and my head’s feeling cold, but I know it is for a good cause.”

Euan, who currently studies at South Cheshire College, had raised more than £70 prior to the head shave last Wednesday.
