TOMORROW sees the return of the annual Moulton Crow Fair, a unique and celebrated village tradition.

The day will feature a tug of war, live music, more than 20 stalls and the famous Moulton Crows, an anonymous group of villagers who dance dressed in black and cloaked in secrecy.

The dance stems from the 1930s, when unemployed salt miners would dance for money, and the fair itself was revived in 2006.

It continues to grow, with visitors flocking to the village from across the north west last year to learn of the crows’ history.

Earlier this year, the Crows took their performance out of Moulton for the first time, delighting crowds at Middlewich FAB Festival.

This year’s fair takes place tomorrow afternoon, July 9, in Main Road, Moulton.
