WINNERS have been announced for this year’s Middlewich Town Council ‘Your Heritage’ photographic competition.

The seventh edition of the competition - sponsored by Middlewich based Jugglers Management Accountancy Services - culminated over FAB weekend, with finalists on display and votes cast for a people’s choice award.

A display was held in Victoria Hall on Sunday, June 19, with winning entries chosen across six categories plus the overall and public vote winners.

Kathleen Hill completed a double swoop, winning both the general and overall competition with her entry ‘In the Thick of It’.

Nick Cooper’s ‘Pumpkins Galore’ took top spot in the landscape category, and he also won the built heritage section with ‘Mow Cop’.

‘Take Off’ by Morgan Burgess claimed the wildlife and young people’s prize, with Rodger F Burgess finishing first in the camera phone category with ‘Blakemere Moss’.

Muriel Dale’s ‘No 77 Bridge’ then pipped Sue Bailey’s snap of a greedy squirrel to the people’s choice award by a single vote.

Competition organiser and Middlewich Town Council heritage officer Kerry Fletcher said: “There were many fantastic photographs entered, the quality of the entries seems to be getting better and better.

“The standard of entries from young people was just amazing. A genuine well done to everyone who entered the competition.”
