A NEW and improved Warmingham village hall looks to be one step closer to reality, after a third and final bid for funding was submitted this month.

Warmingham Village Hall Committee are now hoping to secure a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, which would see a brand new community hall built in place of the current one on School Lane.

The committee compiled a near-400 page document for the bid, including a detailed architect’s plan and a number of surveys on cost and future usage.

They hope to hear back in November, and will continue to fundraise in the meantime.

Adrian Crank of the new hall subcommittee said: “Putting together the large volume of paperwork for this third and last stage of the BLF process has been a significant challenge.

“Essentially, the stage three bid tells the Lottery why we need a new hall, what it will cost to build it and run it and how our local community will benefit from it.

“You might not think that it would need 384 pages to say that but that's what it took.

“Thanks to EdF for printing and packaging the whole tome and thanks to the whole community for their continued support.”

Facilities in the proposed hall will include a main hall for large activity groups and a meeting room to accommodate smaller sessions. There are also plans for a large kitchen, social area and internet facilities.
