PUPILS at Middlewich High School swapped their classroom for the catwalk to model their brand new football kits.

The bespoke football kits, courtesy of Bellway Homes, were designed by the pupils and staff in conjunction with Under Armour and incorporate the school’s badge and the Cheshire Wheatsheaf.

The partnership between Bellway Homes and Middlewich High School forms part of the school’s involvement in the Middlewich Sports Leaders Programme, an initiative which trains pupils to become young leaders and coaches in a variety of sports and activities.

The sports leaders will work with younger pupils in both primary and secondary schools, with the principal aim being the provision of more opportunities for children in Cheshire to take part in high quality sport and exercise, which in turn will result in improved health and fitness.

Alistair Denham, head of physical education at Middlewich High School, said: “The school’s participation in the Sports Leaders Programme requires significant investment in terms of time, effort and financially. The support we have received from Bellway Homes is fantastic and we are very grateful to them for their generous donation, which allowed the school to purchase brand new bespoke kits for the football team.

“We wanted the kits to be special and they certainly are as they have been designed by the pupils and staff who worked closely with Under Armour.”
