ROADWORKS in Queen Street, Middlewich, will be going ahead for the next week and are likely to cause further delays.

Work by SP Energy Networks to install ducts and cables underground will be carried out from today, Wednesday, April 6, until Tuesday, April 12.

A traffic control, give and take system will be in place while the work goes ahead.

Short-term work by Cheshire East Council will also start in Cledford Lane on Tuesday, April 12 and temporary traffic lights will be introduced.

The work is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, April 14.

The borough council will also be moving onto Warmingham Lane to carry out ‘essential work’ on April 14 where temporary traffic lights will again be used.

The work in Warmingham Lane is scheduled to last just one day.

Warmingham Lane is currently a diversion route for roadworks being carried out in Mill Lane, Moston Green.

The work in Mill Lane is scheduled to be finished on Friday, April 15, meaning the temporary traffic lights in Warmingham Lane could be in force while the road is still being used as a diversion.
