MIDDLEWICH-based construction giants Pochin’s has secured a £2 million project in Stoke-on-Trent.

The north west construction and property specialist has continued its long-standing relationship with supported living property developer, HB Villages.

Pochin’s, who are currently building a similar supported living facility for HB Villages in Sandbach, will be responsible for the delivery of a new development on Chetywnd Street.

The purpose-built development will provide 12,500 sq ft of assisted care and residential space for vulnerable members of the local community.

Jim Nicholson, chief executive of Pochin’s Ltd, said: “As a family business that has been working in the north west and Staffordshire region for over 80 years, we highly value the role our projects play in the local community.

“With that in mind, we’re extremely proud of the trusted partnership we’ve developed with HB Villages and the positive support this new state-of-the-art facility will provide to families for years to come.”

Work will begin on the site this week. Pochin’s are set to hand over the keys to the project in September, which will provide 18 apartments across three buildings.

As well as working with HB Villages, structural engineers, Bell Munro, and Calderpeel Architects are also involved in the project.

HB Villages is a privately-owned property development and investment company established in 2011.

Their aim is to work in partnership with registered social housing providers, care commissioning bodies, national charities and support providers to deliver Specialist Supported Housing in community settings across the UK, without the need for government subsidy.

Jonny Wrigley, managing director of HB Villages, said: “Assisted living has become a vital community asset and one that is allowing vulnerable adults to live safely and independently across the UK.

“This is a fantastic development for Stoke-on-Trent and we’re proud to be partnering with Pochin’s once more to ensure a high quality delivery.”

Pochin’s was founded in the 1930s as a small joinery business has grown over years to become synonymous with construction and property development in the north west of England.

Operating from its headquarters in Middlewich, Cheshire, Pochin’s has been responsible for an extensive range of projects in the region.
