A MIDDLEWICH man is appealing for witnesses after finding his car damaged outside his home.

Anthony Cox, of Booth Lane, sent out a Facebook appeal to find the perpetrators after he awoke to find the rear right hand side of his silver Ford Focus smashed to pieces.

Surrounding the car were pieces from a small black car, which Mr Cox believes have come from the offending vehicle.

In his Facebook post Mr Cox said: “This morning around 7am our neighbours heard a loud noise but assumed it was somebody moving their bin. As you can see it wasn’t. Somebody smashed into the back of my car and drove off.

“It seems to be a black car as there are pieces of it on the ground. Their car will be heavily damaged and missing at least a headlight.

“They managed to shunt me forward by about 5ft and onto the kerb. So if my car is like this, there’s has to be just as bad.

“Please help me get the word out. If anyone knows anything please get in contact.”

Speaking to the Guardian, Anthony added: “The post has gained some real traction with over 1.5k shares. Someone must know something.”

Since posting, Anthony has received several messages informing him of damaged vehicles in the area matching the description, but so far no one has come forward to admit involvement.

If you know anything about the incident contact Cheshire Police on 101.
