MOTORISTS are set for disruption following a road closure in Worleston.

Cheshire East Council is using the closure of the B5074 as an opportunity to carry out extra highway maintenance.

The road though Church Minshull and Worleston will benefit from highways improvements and other maintenance work.

The Council’s highways team will deliver patching repairs on the B5074 between the junction of Over Road and Cross Lane and the A51 Reaseheath roundabout between January 25 and February 5.

Cheshire East highways will be gully cleaning, sign cleaning, carrying out grass verge and footway maintenance.

Works are planned between 9.30am and 3.30pm to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, allowing peak travel hours to remain unaffected. Any winter maintenance gritting activities will go ahead as planned.

A diversion route will be in place to help keep traffic flowing while works are in progress and will be signed via the A530.

This route will be mapped out using advanced warning variable message signs at several locations. Emergency access will be maintained at all times and local residents and businesses have been notified of the works.

Staff will be posted at closure points to allow entry and exit to properties and businesses in Church Minshull and Worleston.

They will also be on hand to provide help and advice throughout the duration of the scheme.
