ANN-Marie Hunter and her partner Ben Macfie are looking to be a cut above the rest with their new business.

They have opened Dukes Gentlemen’s Barbers in Manchester Road, Lostock.

Ann-Marie, 35, and Ben, 37, live in Middlewich, and decided on Lostock as the location for the business after looking for the right-sized premises for a while.

“Our ambition is to have the best barbershop around, and we want the absolute best for our customers,” said Ann-Marie.

“We have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into Dukes. We had a lot of late nights and worked weekends to get the shop up to the highest standard we could, and when it was finished we were so proud of it.

“We believe we have something great to offer Northwich and the surrounding areas, and are modern but with old school service.

“We also provide the traditional cut throat razor shaves, and Thursdays is our Dad and Lad day, when we encourage dads to come in with their sons, and the son’s hair cut is free.

“The reaction from our customers has been great since we opened, and we are proud to give the town something the cities offer but not as city prices.

“We will be part of charity events because we think it’s important to give something back.”

The barbers is open from Tuesday to Saturday, opening until 7pm on Thursdays.
