MOTHER of two Sarah Traynor-Barry is seeking support for her weight loss challenge for St Luke’s Hospice.

Sarah, 43, is hoping to lose at least two stones by taking part in the hospice-organised fundraiser Biggest Loser 2016.

The challenge is being run in conjunction with the BTB Fitness Academy at Winsford, and consists of a 12-week diet and fitness programme.

Sarah and the other men and women who have signed up for the challenge will meet and train at the academy once a week on a Monday evening.

Sarah lives in Middlewich, and is a café Partner at the Waitrose store in Northwich. She owned Reid’s Bakery in Middlewich.

She was inspired to raise funds for St Luke’s by her auntie, who was cared for at the hospice, and needs to raise at least £400 for the organisation.

She has a justgiving online page where people can donate, and is planning further events to boost the fundraising total for the hospice.

“I decided to do the challenge for many reasons,” said Sarah.

“Last year I lost two and a half stones, but the weight loss has evened out now, and I need a kick to start again.

“My auntie Monica Robinson, from Winsford, was a patient at St Luke’s before she died, and I always remember how much joy and peace she got from her visits there.

“Also there are quite a few Partners and customers at Waitrose whose families have benefited from the services offered at St Luke’s and their stories touched me.

“I just wanted to give something back and help them raise some money.

“I want to lose at least a stone, and would like to lose two. I want to push myself, and do something worthwhile for me.

“It will be gruelling, and I’ll be giving it my all.”

Sarah is holding a Naughty and Nice bake sale at Waitrose on February 26, and is looking to organising a fundraising hula hoop session in March and a quiz night.

People can also support Sarah in March through the green token Community Matters scheme at Waitrose.

The challenge runs from January 25 to April 16, culminating in a celebration event on April 24.

If you would like to support Sarah’s challenge visit www.justgiving.com/Sarah-T-B-doesbiggestloser2016 or text BIGL73 £10 to 70070 – the amount can be changed to £5 or less.

It costs £8,600 a day to keep the hospice running.
