REPORTS of an explosion in Middlewich were a ‘false alarm with good intent’, Cheshire Police have confirmed.
Yesterday evening just before 9pm, emergency service received reports of an explosion near Brook’s Lane, Middlewich.
Reports of an explosion in Middlewich also began to circulate on social media.
Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident, but discovered it to be a false alarm.
A police spokesman said: “Somebody said they heard an explosion around 8.50pm on Brooke’s Lane.
“It appeared to be a false alarm with good intent. It was checked out but there was nothing wrong.”
