A GROUP of brothers and sisters who lost touch with their dad after moving to Australia in 1960, have traced him to Middlewich and are looking for any half brothers or sisters in the town.

Kenneth Williams, who died in 1981, lived in Middlewich with his wife Marjory and was at one time the landlord of The White Horse in Lewin Street.

His sons Robin, 71, and Terrance, 72, and daughter Caroline, 69, are desperate to find out more information about their dad’s life and track down a picture of him after he ‘disappeared out of their lives’.

Robin traced Kenneth to Middlewich, with the help of his dad’s old friend, Sue Stafford, from his home town in Gloucestershire.

They discovered that he and his wife, who died in 2014, have a memorial plaque in Middlewich Cemetery and were excited to find out that someone in the town is still leaving flowers and a Christmas wreath at the plaque.

Robin said: “We all emigrated from England in 1960 and settled down in Sydney with my brother Terry moving on to New Zealand.

“Dad went off to war and contact was lost. We have always wondered what happened to dad, especially my sister who is in ill health.

“Recently I have taken up family research as a hobby and this is where Sue Stafford comes in. She has been absolutely marvellous and with next to nothing to work on has found information about dad that we never knew existed or believed could be discovered.

“We had nothing of him, no information about him and as my sister recently said, ‘I would just love a photo of him’. He just disappeared out of our lives and we were so young.

“What would be lovely is if we could discover any siblings from his marriage to Marjory. It would be pure joy to contact anyone that could help fill in the big holes in our lives. Any little bit of information, any little knowledge and of course the lottery win, a photo.”
