A NEW heritage exhibition will be opening in Middlewich next month and history buffs will also be treated to a newly developed salt tour.
As part of the Heritage Open Days that Middlewich Town Council will be running, a new exhibition of Middlewich heritage and Roman artefacts will be opened on Friday, September 11.
The town council will also be running its new salt tour ‘The Salt Journey of Middlewich Past’ from the same day. The tour has been updated with the latest information and understanding of Middlewich’s role in the Salt Industry over the last 2000 years.
The tour is free of charge, good for all ages and abilities and will start from Middlewich Library and the new exhibition at 1pm.
On Saturday, September 12, Middlewich will be joining neighbouring Saltscape town Northwich in various activities by offering more heritage-based treats.
Guests can find out more about Roman Township, again starting from the new exhibition at Middlewich Library at 10am.
Families can walk along the old Roman roads, visit the fort site at Harbutt’s Field and learn about the newest information on the town’s Roman past.
Anyone interested in either event is required to book their place by calling 01606 833434.
