AFTER reports in the Guardian that Middlewich Town Council is piling pressure on Cheshire East Council to make Lewin Street safer for pedestrians, a video has emerged showing the extent of the plight.
Cllr David Latham spoke at the Middlewich Town Council meeting on Monday, July 20, claiming that several pedestrians on the pavement had been hit by lorry wing mirrors in the past month.
The town council has asked Cheshire East Council for an engineer’s report on safety measures and on the possibility of narrowing the road and making a stop and go system.
