THREE men have been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs following a raid in Middlewich.

Daniel Evans, 41, Graham Holmes, 48 and Stuart Holmes, 35, were all arrested by officers from Crewe Local Policing Unit on Monday, July 13, following a drugs warrant carried out at an address on Booth Lane.

All three appeared at Macclesfield Magistrates on Tuesday, July 14. Graham and Stuart Holmes were remanded in custody and Daniel Evans was released on bail.

Detective Sergeant Richard Johnson, from Crewe Local Policing team, said: “The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known, and we are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved.”

The drugs raid was conducted as part of Operation ImpACT, which has seen a series of dawn raids targeting organised crime and illegal drugs in recent months.

In February, a cannabis farm that police said had the potential to make £4 million a year was uncovered in Little Budworth, near Winsford.

Following a drugs raid at an address on Mill Lane, Little Budworth, officers discovered a haul of 1750 plants.

Also in February, a massive cannabis factory was discovered by police following an early morning raid at a disused nightclub in Warrington town centre.

Officers said the farm had the potential to make £6 million a year.

Detective Sergeant Johnson said: “Operation ImpACT reinforces the commitment that the police and partner agencies have in targeting those people that undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in organised crime and illegal drugs.

"Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime.

“We would urge anyone with any information in relation to drug use and supply in your community to get in touch on 101, or alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
