MIDDLEWICH-based construction giants Pochin’s is planning to build a large industrial warehouse on Pochin Way in Middlewich.

The company has submitted a planning application to Cheshire East Council to build a 14,402sq m warehouse with office accommodation, car parking yards, HGV parking and a gatehouse.

If approved, the warehouse will built on the Midpoint 18 business park off Pochin way.

Pochin’s CEO Jim Nicholson says the plans have come about off the back of ‘local support for the bypass and HS2’ and will ‘boost Middlewich’s economy’.

Jim Nicholson, CEO of Pochin’s, said: "Pochin’s has enjoyed a long and successful history developing Midpoint 18, and we’re looking to further its offering during this exciting period for Middlewich.

“We’ve recognised a significant rise in demand for distribution and warehousing in the industrial sector, buoyed by local support for the bypass and HS2, and this is a fantastic opportunity to serve that need and boost Middlewich’s economy."

Any comments on the application can be submitted via the Cheshire East Council website before Thursday, July 9.

The application is currently scheduled to be discussed at Cheshire East Council planning committee on Wednesday, July 29.
