A SON has paid tribute to his 72-year-old mum who died in a crash on Booth Lane in Middlewich on Saturday.
Janet Thompson, from Sandbach, was driving her Honda Civic on Booth Lane at around 2pm on Saturday when she was involved in a collision with a Toyota Hilux and a HGV.
A 20-year-old Middlewich man, who was driving the Toyota, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and granted bail pending further investigations.
Janet's son Robert Thompson said: “Our family are still trying to come to terms with the tragic loss of our beloved Mum, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister, who was taken from us on Saturday.
“Janet was the cornerstone of the family and well loved by all.”
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call PC Tony Hayhurst on 101 quoting incident number 472 of the 16 May 2015.
