THE work to repair the cellar doors on the pavement outside The White Horse on Lewin Street in Middlewich is set to be completed this week.
Last month, the Guardian reported that the cellar doors outside the pub had caved in after a lorry mounted the pavement and drove over them.
Since then, barriers have surrounded the cellar doors, closing the pavement to pedestrians, and work to repair them has caused traffic problems, turning the section of Lewin Street into a one-lane give-way system.
However, Cheshire East Council is projecting that the work will be completed by Friday, May 22 and both lane on Lewin Street will be reopened.
