CLEDFORD post office is set to be transformed in July becoming mainly a pharmacy.
The post office, on Warmingham Lane, will undergo a complete refurbishment, with a pharmacy taking over and the post office still operating from within the pharmacy.
Current owner of the post office Che Solanki is excited about the new venture and said the change was good for the area.
Che said: “The old shop will be coming out and a whole new shop will be going in so it will be a complete change and I think it will be really good for the area.
“I got a call from a company down south called Wellbeing Pharmacy and they said they wanted to join together. I thought it was a good idea and a good opportunity for a new venture.
“We haven’t chosen a name for the new shop yet but the post office will still be there, just more of a side feature to the pharmacy.”
The shop will be shut for two weeks while the refurbishment is carried out between Thursday, July 2 and Thursday, July 16.
Middlewich town clerk Jonathan Williams agrees that the new pharmacy is good for the area and said more facilities like this would be welcome.
Jonathan Williams, Middlewich town clerk, said: “Such a large part of the town lives in the Cledford area and it is crying out for more facilities.
“The chemist facility is very much welcomed and hopefully we can increase on that in the future.
“Most types of investment in the area is welcomed and especially ones like a pharmacy that would really benefit the families that live there.”
