A WOMAN from Middlewich who suffered a serious health scare has transformed her life and is now helping others do the same.

Cath Murphy, 54, suffered a perforated bowel, severe infection and was close to septicaemia when she took herself to the accident and emergency department at Leighton in June 2013.

Her illness made Cath fall into depression, quitting her job she once loved, gaining weight and leading an inactive and unhealthy lifestyle.

But after a serious health scare terrified her into making some serious lifestyle changes, Cath is now set to become a Slimming World consultant and is re-launching the Winsford morning group on Tuesday, April 28.

Cath said: “The health scare meant that for the first time in my life I felt weak and vulnerable. I lost my confidence and took the decision to resign from a job that I’d previously adored and worked so hard to get. It was a very difficult time and I felt that I’d never come through it, until I took the decision to join Slimming World.

“I had gained a stone in a short amount of time and knew that I would continue to gain weight if I carried on as I was going. My daughter is a successful Slimming World consultant and I knew that the groups were still warm and friendly places to be but it still took a lot of courage for me to join as a member myself.

“I feel younger, healthier and slimmer than I have in years, I feel like I finally have my spark back and cannot wait to embark upon my new career, helping people to feel as fantastic as I now feel.”
