A 72-YEAR-OLD woman who was trapped under a car after a crash in Middlewich is now out of hospital and has thanked the people who came to her aid.

Patricia Lewis and husband John, 79, who live on Harbutts View in Middlewich, were hit by a car on Wheelock Street on Friday, March 20, with Patricia being dragged underneath the car.

Patricia was taken by air ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital where she was treated in intensive care for a broken pelvis, broken shoulder, and several broken ribs.

But the Middlewich woman has now been discharged from hospital and is eager to thank the men who lifted the car off her and others who came to her aid.

Patricia said: “I want to thank all the kind people of Middlewich who came to help me. They were very special people.

“I especially want to thank the people lifted the car off me but also the ambulance service, police, firefighters, and all the people who have been sending their support. I have had more than 70 get well cards and I can’t thank them enough.

“It was absolutely terrifying and it’s been such an emotional time but I’m now out of hospital and slowly improving, and I will get there.”
