MIDDLEWICH Town Council has cut its public opening times at the Victoria Building council offices.

The offices opening hours, which were previously 9am to 5pm, will be reduced from Wednesday, April 1, to 10am to 3pm.

Middlewich Town Council clerk, Jonathan Williams, said the reduced public access will allow the council to be run more efficiently without taken too much away from the public service.

Jonathan said: “It’s very public office that we have here and people are used to coming to this building to access information but we need time to do our own work as well.

“But to do that we need to have time to operate efficiently as a council as well as providing a public facility.

“It’s about trying to provide the best support and information we can whilst also maintaining the best running of the council that we can.”
