A WOMAN was trapped underneath a car after a serious crash on Wheelock Street.

Two pedestrians were involved in the crash with one car which occurred shortly before 4pm today, Friday, March 20.

Ambulances, firefighters and police were all at the scene and an air ambulance landed on Middlewich Football Club pitch.

Police have confirmed that a woman was trapped underneath the car and her injuries are unknown.

Sgt Mike Beamish from Middlewich Police said: “I can confirm that there was a woman trapped underneath the car and is being treated by emergency services.”

The whole area was cordoned off by police with Wheelock Street, Darlington Street and Lawrence Avenue West all closed to traffic and pedestrians.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Emergency services responded to a call relating to a road traffic collision involving two pedestrians. We received the call at 3.54pm and injuries are not known at this time."

All roads have now been reopened as of around 7pm.
