AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD girl from Middlewich who suffers from autism and has an ‘obsession with helping others,’ has been selected to compete for a place in an international beauty pageant at Disney Land Paris.

Tyla Moore, who also has ADHD, has been chosen by the Face of the Globe to compete at a north west heat in Lancashire.

Tyla is competing in the pageant for the second time, getting involved last year after being stopped in the street by a woman who told her mum Samantha about the pageant.

The pageant is heavily based upon the entrants’ character rather than looks and with Tyla’s hunger for helping others, the youngster should do just fine.

Samantha said: “With autism you tend to develop obsessions with things, but Tyla is just obsessed with helping people. Even if they don’t need helping but she thinks they do, we have to help them.

“We went shopping round Manchester recently and I give her a bit of money to look for something to buy, but she saw a homeless man and bought him some soup and a drink with it.

“Over the past two years she has managed to raise more than £2,000 for charity, we’ve now got a stall on the Maker’s market to raise money for charity and we’ve just joined the Middlewich Good Neighbours group after she heard about it and got really excited.”

The contest has four age categories ranging from five years old upwards.

Tyla will be in the mini category from which, if she is selected as one of the five representatives from that group, will be invited to Disneyland Paris in October to compete against girls from all over the world.
