TRAFFIC in Middlewich ground to a halt this morning after a lorry caught fire in the town centre.
The incident happened at 10.28am when the cab of a lorry travelling through the town burst into flames.
Two fire engines, one from Middlewich and one from Winsford, attended the blaze.
The crew, one wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
The lorry's cargo was unaffected as the fire was confined to the lorry's cab.
However, as a result of the incident, traffic is very heavy.
