MIDDLEWICH Heritage’s annual photography competition is about to enter its sixth year and is looking for keen snappers to show off their talent.

The competition, which is open to photographers from across Cheshire encourages entrants to explore Cheshire Heritage through the medium of photography.

The competition is now open for entries and will remain open until June 12. Shortlisted entries and finalists will then be displayed in the Town Hall Function Suite as part of this year’s 25th anniversary Folk and Boat Festival.

Kerry Fletcher, Middlewich Town Council’s Heritage Officer, said: “The photographic competition is always one of the highlights of the year as it brings together so many people from the area.

“We have categories for landscape, built heritage and wildlife plus one for camera phone images and general topics.

“I would urge people to grab their camera and get involved.”

Middlewich-based management accountancy firm, Jugglers, has once again pledged their support by sponsoring the competition for the fourth year running.

David Hubbard, director of Jugglers and keen amateur photographer, said: “We were keen to support this competition which encourages people young and old to get out and capture some great images of Cheshire.

“As a keen photographer I know that competitions such as this one can be a real inspiration and am looking forward to what will hopefully be a bumper year for entries.”
