YOUNG aspiring wizards and witches joined in the first Harry Potter Book Night at Middlewich Library.
The book night, was held on Thursday, February 5, saw schools, libraries, bookshops and community centres from around the world join up with Bloomsbury Publishing to celebrate the work of J.K. Rowling.
As part of the celebration Middlewich Library hosted a magical mayhem event, with an evening of free quizzes, code-breaking, word searches, treasure hunts, stories and potion-making available to all the young Harry Potter fans of the area.
Emma Drakes, from Middlewich Library, said: “Children attended sporting their finest magical robes, hats and wands. Fortunately none of the librarians were transformed into frogs.”
The event was led by Bloomsbury Publishing, who provided Harry Potter Book Night Kits to every venue taking part.
The global book night was intended to give new and existing fans a chance to share the Harry Potter stories and to introduce the next generation of readers to the magic of Hogwarts.
