A MEMBER of the Mid-Cheshire Camcorder Club from Middlewich has made a short video showing the walk that his 66-year-old dad has to make to find a safe road crossing.

Martin Ollier, who lives on King Street in Middlewich, made the video to highlight the need for a crossing on Nantwich Road.

Martin’s dad lives on Glastonbury Drive and instead of being able to use a pedestrian crossing on the busy A530, he has to walk more than 500 yards to the crossing near Morrisons on Chester Road to then walk back the same way on the other side.

Martin said: “My dad has had two knee replacements and walks with a stick so it’s not easy for him and I just thought I’d make a short film to show his journey to the nearest crossing.

“I’m a member of the Mid-Cheshire Camcorder Club and I always make videos so I just did it because I enjoy filming, but hopefully it will be able to highlight the need for crossing on Nantwich Road as well.”

The video, which is entitled The Crossing, also shows the problem of narrow pavements along the walk.
