MIDDLEWICH High School Community Choir will be bringing their first year together to a close with a community carol service this Christmas.

The choir has expanded to more than 30 members in its first year and will be showcasing their talents with a service at St Michael’s Church on Thursday, December 18, at 7pm. The event is free to attend but there will be a retiring collection for charity.

The group have performed at a number of charity events throughout the year and are looking forward to bringing festive cheer to Middlewich.

Julie Barker, choral director, said: “We are just hoping to fill the church by bringing the community together and get the festive season off to a great start in Middlewich in a traditional way.” “Please come along and join us for what we hope will be a memorable evening.”

Many sections of the Middlewich community have been invited to participate with performances, with performances from Park Road Signing Choir and Infants Choir, Middlewich High School Signing Choir, as well as traditional items from the community choir themselves.

Readers from across the Middlewich community have been invited to retell the Christmas story through traditional readings and poems and there will also be the opportunity for the congregation to join in singing some of our favourite Christmas carols.

The event is free to attend but there will be a retiring collection for charity.
