THE bus service in Middlewich has yet again come under criticism – this time by Labour candidate Darren Price.
Darren, who is the Labour candidate for the Congleton Constituency in next year’s general election, has described the service as ‘appalling’ and says Middlewich needs to have better links to neighbouring towns.
He said: “It would be really great if we could achieve a train station for Middlewich, but until that actually happens we must have frequent bus services to the existing stations at Winsford and Sandbach.
Sunday bus services in Middlewich were axed last year and an evening service to Winsford and Sandbach was reinstated last month.
Darren added: “To have no bus service at all on a Sunday in Middlewich is appalling. Not everyone has a car and it is the poor, the elderly and the vulnerable who suffer the most.
“In Middlewich many pensioners have bus passes but no bus to use them on.”
