MIDDLEWICH Good Neighbours have expressed their delight at inspiring other towns in Cheshire to follow their model.

The group, which was set up last year, has gone from strength to strength and now boats more than 70 members who help each other out on a daily basis.

The concept has been so successful in Middlewich that now, neighbouring towns and villages such as Sandbach and Sandiway are asking for advice on how to go about setting up a good neighbours group in their community.

“We’re really happy that we are now inspiring other towns,” said Middlewich Good Neighbours coordinator Ceri Edwards.

“Our founding member’s husband is a reverend at St John’s church in Sandiway and after the success he seen his wife have with the group in Middlewich he is looking to set one up there.

“There have been interest from people in other areas as well like Sandbach because I think people realise there is a need for just being neighbourly and it is simple model.”
