THE time has come once again for Middlewich residents to get together and sample a vast array of beer, cider and wine.

The Middlewich Beer Festival, run by Middlewich Round Table will be taking place over the weekend on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25, at Middlewich Legion, and organisers are looking forward to their 12th year of festivities.

John Humphreys, from Middlewich Round Table, said: “As a Round Table we used go to a lot beer festivals until in the end we said, ‘we can do this’, but we didn’t realise how much work actually goes into it.

“Now 12 years on it really is going strong and we sell out every year.”

“We’ve got quite a lot of local beers on offer but they do come from all over, we have beers from Scotland and the south and coast and everywhere.

“There are a few fruit beers that always go down really well as well as the real ales.”

Half of the money raised at the event will go towards the Middlewich Royal British Legion and the other half will be spread among various charities and causes around the town.

John added: “It has now become a recognised event in the Middlewich calendar and it raises a lot of money for some good Middlewich charities.

“Everybody always has a great time and we just want people to come along and enjoy the live music, beer and atmosphere.”

The festival will run from 7pm to 11pm on both days and the lunch time session on Saturday will run from 12noon to 4pm.

Entry costs £8 including a commemorative glass and will also feature live bands and food.

Don’t forget to cut out the final token in the Guardian this week and add to the previous two to get yourself a free half pint of beer at the Middlewich Beer Festival.
