MORE than 60 teaching staff at Middlewich High School achieved their Teaching Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP) phase one certificate.

Forty-six teachers and 20 teaching assistants from the school took part in training to for the TEEP certificate and successfully achieved the certificate.

Mark Edwards, deputy head teacher, said: “In pursuit of sustaining outstanding learning for our students, our teaching staff have been engaged in specialist training to enhance the teaching and learning in our school.

“A very big "well done" to the teachers and teaching assistants who have now been successful in achieving their TEEP phase one certificate.”

TEEP focuses on the methods recognised nationally which are proven to support rapid progress in lessons.

Pupils are prepared for their learning early in the lesson, encouraged to consider new information and apply their knowledge to demonstrate secure understanding.

Fourteen of the schools staff also successfully trained as TEEP phase two coaches and will be working alongside their colleagues this year to further develop outstanding learning experiences.
