THE lorry driver who sustained serious injuries in a crash on the M62 near Widnes has been confirmed to be from Middlewich.
The man was taken to hospital by air ambulance after firefighters freed him from his cab.
No-one else was seriously hurt.
The incident involving two HGVs occurred at around 11.10am on Monday, October 6 and closed the westbound carriageway from junction 7 at Widnes to junction 8 at Burtonwood.
