SEVERAL women from Middlewich have taken it upon themselves to set up a new social group after noticing there were women isolated in the town.

The group was founded when one woman posted on Facebook that she had recently moved to the town but had yet to make any new friends.

Sally Booth, one of the founders of the group, said: “It all began with Dawn Boston-Brady posting on a community facebook page, explaining that she’s fairly new to the town and not made any friends yet and she enquired about any group in the town she could attend.

“It snow-balled from there and it turns out there is a lot of women that were looking for like-minded people to meet up with for coffee or drinks and make new friends.

After all responding to Dawn’s post, the group decided to set up their own Facebook page called ‘Middlewich girls just wanna have fun’ and went on to have their first meeting at the White Bear on Wednesday, September 24.

Sally added: “It felt like going on blind date meeting strangers for the first time but we were all in the same boat.

“A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all and new friendships were formed.

“We will be arranging all sorts of gatherings from coffee mornings to nights out at times to suit everyone so no one will ever be left out.”
