THE Middlewich community has once again proved it is not selfish when it comes to fundraising by extending a hand to help raise funds for nearby towns.

Linda Boden from Middlewich, who has raised funds to donate defibrillators around the town since her son Andrew Cliffe died of a heart condition in 2006, gathered friends from Middlewich to help support communities in Warrington and Liverpool.

Linda, who is also a SADS UK representative, went with friends from Middlewich to take part in the 5k Big Fun Run at Sefton Park in Liverpool on Saturday, August 16.

The group walked the 5k route around the park to support Linda’s friend Angela Morris, who was raising funds to put defibrillators around Warrington and Liverpool and raised around £900.

Linda said: “It is really important that we support other communities because Middlewich is very unique in the way people took myself and Andrew to heart and help so much with the fundraising.

“Other communities may not have someone that has been affected by this and have nobody to help fundraise to put defibrillators in these towns.

“We want to promote accessibility in all communities as well as ours because we are not a selfish charity.”
