ORGANISERS of the Middlewich Music Festival have revealed the line-up of their first music event after much anticipation.

The first of a planned annual Middlewich Music Festival was initially set for September, however organisers decided to postpone the main event until next year.

Instead, smaller music events will be held monthly to build up to next year’s festival and the first of the events will be the ‘Bear Wych Project’ at the White Bear on Saturday, September 20, running from 2pm to 11pm.

The line-up will consist of headliners Ghost Town Heroines, Anachrony, House of Cain, Will Garner, Bear Minimum, Dirty Luck, Edits, JWB, Jonathan Tarplee, Paul Bennett, and Alex Evans.

Adam Roberts, organiser of the Middlewich Music Festival events, said: “I’m really excited about it but nervous at the same time because it has all just come out of nowhere and spiralled really quickly.

“The main thing I want to get across though is that we are not trying to make money at all.

“It’s about giving the young up-and-coming bands and artists in Middlewich a platform to perform and get themselves out there because Middlewich is overrun with tribute bands.

“The Folk and Boat Festival is really great at what it does, and I have no problem with folk bands and tribute bands, but there needed to be someone to stand up and give these other bands a chance and give them somewhere to perform and hopefully that is what we can do.”

The Bear Wych Project will be free to enter and The White Bear will be providing food throughout the day.
