THE first Middlewich Music Festival has been postponed to summer 2015, with various smaller events taking its place this year.

Adam Roberts, from Middlewich, who is organising the independent festival, had previously planned to hold the first of a new annual music festival showcasing the best of Middlewich bands and artists in September, but has now decided to put the date back to next year.

Adam said: “We've come to the decision to put back the festival until next year, as we've assessed the situation with organising everything within 6 weeks and it’s just too much to get right.

“We intend to spend the next 10 months promoting the Middlewich music banner by putting on various all-dayers and band nights at the local pubs.”

Adam is now looking to put on the first of the live music events at The White Bear in September and is hoping to put on an eight-hour show running from 2pm until 10pm.

Three artists have been confirmed to play the first event so far ranging from indie rock with Bear Minimum, to reggae with Dirty Luck and Solo Blues with Jonathan Tarplee.

The idea behind the festival is to showcase local talent but Adam admits that he may have to bring bands from further afield for the promotional events.

Adam added: “Obviously because this is the first event of its kind, we want to start with a bang, but this may force us to look further afield for bookings.”
