PUPILS at Middlewich Primary School took part in a competition to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Year five pupils gave up their breaks and lunch times to run a competition in aid of the charity and raised more than £40.

The children pulled together to support the charity that is close to the hearts of some of them.

The pupils approached the school’s fundraising co-ordinator Jill Miller to ask if they could run the competition, which was to create a picture, story, or poem that incorporated the charity’s logo colour blue.

Jill and Year five teacher Amy Harding were incredibly proud of the children for their commitment to raising the money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Amy said: “All the children worked really well together and they were all really dedicated, giving up their breaks and lunch times.

“We were so proud of the effort they put in and also for them to get up in assembly was really brave of them.”

The competition was split into key stage one and key stage two, with the winner for the younger group producing a picture of a blue flower and the winner of the older group coming up with a story of a helpful creature.

The children were presented with certificates by the Multiple Sclerosis Society to thank them for their fundraising efforts.
