MIDDLEWICH scouts have thanked the groups that have helped them with fundraising and donations over the years.

The 2nd Middlewich Scout Group held an event on Monday, June 30, at the Scout Hall on Brooks Lane and saw The Middlewich Round Table, the Rotary and the past and present Town Mayor’s Clr Bernice Walmsley and Clr Paul Edwards all attend.

The guests all had turns practising their archery skills with the scouts before enjoying a barbeque and drinks.

The event was held to thank the groups for the help they have given the scout group for many years.

Dave Burgess, scout leader, said: “over the years we’ve benefitted from a lot fundraising from these groups and this was a chance for us to thank them for all their help.

“It was a very enjoyable event and it was great to see everyone having a go at the archery.

“The support we get from all people, past and present, is much appreciated because without them we really would struggle.”

The food for the barbeque was provided by Delaney’s on Wheelock Street, as the group claims it likes to keep everything within the local community.
