PUPILS of Wimboldsley Primary School dressed up in camouflage gear for National Camo Day and raised funds for charity.

Pupils all paid £1 and wore camouflage or red to signify poppies in school on Friday, June 27, and raised more than £100 towards Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA).

Elaine Fairley, teaching assistant, said: “We were made aware of camo day recently and we thought it would be a good idea to get involved.

“It was really successful, the children really enjoyed, the staff really enjoyed it, and raising money for SSAFA tied in well with our WW1 teaching subject because they were the only charity like it at that time.”

SSAFA is a charity that has supported families of the military for more than 125 years and crosses over the RAF, Army and Navy.
