MIDDLEWICH High School pupils gained a taste for vocational courses at South Cheshire College during an action-packed taster day.

Year 10 pupils from the school took part in interactive sessions in subjects such as Sport, Photography, Plumbing, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Motor Vehicle and Travel and Tourism at the College’s flagship campus.

The pupils were also given the opportunity to turn their hands to Health and Social Care, Brickwork, IT and Electrical Installation during the morning and afternoon workshops.

The sessions gave pupils an insight into what the courses involve and aimed to help them make an informed decision about their next step when they leave school in summer 2015.

Mike Finney, Head of School Liaison at South Cheshire College, said: “We hope that all the pupils who attended the taster sessions enjoyed them and gained useful information about what they can expect from our vocational programmes.

“The pupils were able to try a number of activities which were hosted by college lecturers.

“The feedback we received was excellent from staff and the pupils who took part in the day.”
