THE famous Royal Ascot Ladies Day was once again a huge success, but this time Middlewich ladies did not have to travel too far.

The Kinderton Hotel in Middlewich played host to the town’s very own Ladies Day event as 32 local women got dressed in their best to enjoy the races from a big screen at the pub.

The event, which coincided with the actual Royal Ascot Ladies Day on Thursday, June 26, was run by members of the Wimboldsley Primary School PTA and raised more than £500 for the school and for the Donna Louise Trust.

Joanne Fillingham, who organised the event, said: “It was a huge success and a great experience for people who want to be a part of Ladies Day but can’t travel to Ascot.”

“Everyone was saying what a wonderful it was and we had a few winners as well.”

“The Kinderton were fantastic, we had a huge screen outside to watch the races and my husband was the runner going back and forth to Coral with all the bets, which was really funny.”

The Middlewich Ladies Day will now be an annual event at the Kinderton.

Joanne added: “We will definitely be doing it annually now because there’s no other fundraising event that we do with the PTA that raises more than this, and it’s a really great day.”
